These courses are offered on an In-house and 'public' basis.

News: HSE under fire in new nursing home dispute

Private nursing homes have more high-dependency patients than public nursing homes, yet they cost less, according to a study of health watchdog figures collated by Nursing Homes Ireland (NHI). 

It undermines Health Service Executive (HSE) claims that the reason for the 45% cost differential between public and private beds was because public nursing homes treated sicker patients under the crisis-hit Fair Deal scheme.

Tadhg Daly, CEO of Nursing Homes Ireland (NHI), which represents the private nursing home sector, said the figures proved it was ‘‘a complete fallacy’’ to suggest that the cost of a bed in public nursing homes was more expensive because they looked after sicker patients.
